Golden Crackle Paste

Golden Crackle Paste (suitable for use with acrylic paint) cracks as it dries creating random surface effects. The depth of cracking varies depending on the thickness of application. The most practical way to apply Crackle Paste is with palette knives or trowels and it is suggested when laying the paste on a canvas support that the canvas is pre-stretched to minimise warping of the support. Golden Crackle Paste can be tinted up to 10 per cent by volume, anything above this ratio may inhibit the cracking ability or even prevent cracking; similarly Retarders should not be used to slow drying as it can also alter cracking ability.
